If you've not investigated this unique blend of rock, soul, funk and just plain fun music, your missing something special. These numbers get you up and moving your feet! It's good time, have fun and enjoy kind of songs that catch you by surprise and say..."Hey, wake up and dance!" This month's selection features bands like THE HAWKMEN, KITTY, DAISY AND LEWIS and LITTLE L.A.
Using a combination of your standard guitar, upright bass, brush stroked drums along with the occasional sax, horn and/or keyboards. Anyway you look at it, you'll enjoy my picks this month, so have fun!!!
Beatman....OUT!"

Currently Listening To:
1. Beck - "Say Goodbye"
2. Car Seat Headrest - "Drunk Driver/Killer Whale"
3. Cigarettes After Sex - "Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby"
4. The Cure - "Alone"
5. Chvrchs and Robert Smith - "How Not to Drown"

"My mood lately… melancholy. The world’s turned upside down. And that mood is kind of reflected in the music I’ve been listening to.
I love all things Beck but from the mellow side of this musical genius, Morning Phase is my favorite album. Love it top to bottom but here’s Say Goodbye.
Car Seat Headrest has a new album in the works and I can't wait to hear it. For now though, an old favorite.
Cigarettes After Sex is always popping up on my playlists. Just beautiful music.
“Didn’t you put a song from the new Cure album up when it came out?” Yes. Shut up. It’s brilliant. And it fits my mood.
And lastly, something Cure adjacent. I stumbled across “How Not to Drown” by CHVRCHES featuring Robert Smith recently and love it."

Currently Listening To:
1. The Twilight Sad- In Nowheres
2. Nine Inch Nails- Head Like a Hole
3. Sports, Gus Dapperton- Thank You for Leaving
4. L’Officina Della Camomilla- Un fiore per coltello
5. Lindsey Chia- Away

"Starting off with The Twilight Sad, because they never seem to leave my rotation of music. Especially with an influx of rainy days this February, they’ve fit the vibe perfectly. Secondly, I have found myself listening to more Nine Inch Nails; they’ve been on my radar but I haven’t really listened to them until now. Needless to say, I love their high-octane sound. Thank You For Leaving has an addicting chorus which dominated my headphones for quite a few days. I am currently trying to learn Italian, so in an attempt to get used to the language, I’ve started listening to Italian songs, which led me to the beautifully cinematic Un fiore per coltello. Finally, Away caught my attention with Lindsey’s folk/math rock guitar riffs. They’re ethereal yet midwest emo-ish, which makes her song so engaging to listen to. "
