The Amity Affliction Delivers Metal Magic at New Orleans' House of Blues
Australian metal band The Amity Affliction performed to a sea of fans eager to see them along with openers Many Eyes and Hail the Sun.

The post-Mardi Gras fog was no match for Australian metal band The Amity Affliction, who made New Orleans' House of Blues all their own in mid-March.
The Amity Affliction, along with fellow metal colleagues Many Eyes and post-hardcore band Hail the Sun, performed to a sea of fans eager to see them. The Amity Affliction is no stranger to the city, having performed there just last year at the same venue in May.

Many Eyes was a lot of fun. There were no crowd surfers during their set, but that didn't mean people weren't enjoying themselves.

Hail the Sun was quite the delight as well. The band's roots in California, from their twirling stage antics to microphone stand air-shaking, were evident throughout their entire set. A special shout-out goes to their last song, "Tithe", a scathing song about the often rampant abuse that happens in the church.

The Amity Affliction brought it, simply put. Lead vocalist Joel Birch knew when to let his vocals shine and when to let the crowd take over, Jonathan Reeves effortlessly complimented both Birch and the crowd, while Dan Brown on guitar and Joe Longobardi on drums rounded out both a pleasing tour package and concert performance.
